Chelsea switch focus from Wayne Rooney to Samuel Eto'o, Arsenal eye Juan Mata and Tottenham prepare for the arrival Erik Lamela.

22:28 BST: That last update probably gives you a bit of an insight into how much transfer gossip we're enjoying at the moment, so it's time to call it a night. We'll be back shortly with more blockbusting rumours -- from the DW Stadium and beyond!

22:25 BST: Wigan boss Owen Coyle wants to boost his attack. "There's no secret we're looking to add another striker to the group," he said after the 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough. "We'll certainly try everything we can before the window closes and, if we can't do a deal, then we'll look at the loan market."

21:44 BST: Andre Villas-Boas said he had allowed Gareth Bale, who was not at White Hart Lane for Tottenham’s game against Swansea, to have two days off amid speculation over an impending move to Real Madrid. Villas-Boas watched his team chalk up their second successive 1-0 win thanks to Roberto Soldado penalty, but Bale was in Marbella. “We allowed him two days off," Villas-Boas said. “It's not the first time this has come up. We never force non-selected players to come to our games. I decided that last season.”

21:20 BST: Diego Simeone neither confirmed nor denied that Atletico Madrid have made a move to sign Chelsea attacker Juan Mata on loan. On Sunday afternoon, Radio Marca reported that an Atletico representative was in London trying to arrange a season-long loan deal for the Spain international.

20:27 BST: Napoli have completed the signing of Colombian striker Duvan Zapata from Estudiantes, bringing him to Serie A for an undisclosed fee. Zapata, 22, who reportedly came close to joining West Ham in July, becomes Rafael Benitez's latest addition at the Stadio San Paolo following the arrivals of Gonzalo Higuain, Dries Mertens, Jose Callejon, Pepe Reina and Raul Albiol.
